Autumn 2019 Nature after school clubs – booking open

Junior and Senior groups

This Autumn, we are delighted to bring you two after school groups in Clondarrig Community Farm, Portlaoise.

Thursdays (10-14yrs)

On Thursdays, we invite young people aged 10-14 to join us in the small woodland and its surroundings fields. We will be exploring nature’s bounty with activities such as cooking wild foods on a fire we made; learning about the safe use and the maintenance of hand tools used for woodcrafts; there will be bushcraft; and we’ll be exploring signs of animals living in this area – and much more.

Fridays (6-9yrs)

Fridays are dedicated to 6-9 year old children – we’ll be exploring nature through games and challenges, arts and crafts, bug hunts and searching for clues of other wild animals. We will also learn how to safely light and extinguish a fire and how to recognise and some of the edible plants in the area. There will also always be time for free play to simply enjoy spending time in nature with your friends.
